This phenomenon is part of the larger problem of critical theory subverting and supplanting liberalism. Critical theory is 100% Marxist and 0% liberal from its conception by the Frankfurt School, so this actually represents the attempt by a faction of Marxists to wipe out liberalism (which they hate by definition) and stealthily replace it with a form of neo-Marxism, while the ‘progressive left intelligensia’ continue to pander to these ‘New Left intellectuals’ for electoral and cultural alliance expediency (something encouraged even more by the presence of Trump in recent years).

I believe we can’t accept this anymore, if we want liberalism to have any future.
