I think you’re at least 99% right. What you call ‘progressive’ is actually neo-Marxism, not real progressivism. It is false advertising. Neo-Marxism is a political movement based on a set of ideas called critical theory, which criticizes ‘the system’ in order to tear it down, so something new (some kind of New Communism) could be built. It is considered ‘Marxist’ in the sense that 1) it is based on the Marxist idea that the point of understanding the world is to change it; 2) it aims to critique social systems everywhere, like Marx critiqued the capitalist economic system in Das Kapital, with the end goal of bringing it down. You are correct that identity politics doesn’t really want to help women, black people and LGBT people, it just uses them in the process of tearing society apart for the neo-Marxist agenda.

What I’m worried about is that a lot of liberals and progressives are currently in neo-Marxism denial. That’s why they hate Jordan Peterson, who brings them the truth. Back in 2015 or so liberals were starting to wake up to the neo-Marxist problem, but ever since Trump got elected they have been mostly in denial. Because liberals already have Trump to deal with, they would prefer the world to be simpler (like we all would), where there is only one enemy. Besides, neo-Marxists claim to hate Trump too, and it would feel better for liberals to accept them as allies. However, the real neo-Marxist would actually love for Trump to win (without openly saying so), because they want to ‘heighten the contradictions’. It seems that their worst nightmare would be something like a Biden administration. because it would put Americans to sleep politically, and there would be no ‘revolutionary potential’. Hence the endless attacks on Biden from the far-left.
