There are several reasons why I keep talking about critical theory. One reason is that there is a real push by some to replace liberal principles with critical theory principles as the new norm in progressive circles. The other reason, frankly, is that I am worried that this will push many people who aren't comfortable with critical theory to the hard right. A lot of what I do is actually aimed at preventing this from happening (something many people don't seem to understand yet).
I agree that the current politicization of critical theory isn't really about critical theory in many cases. By doing what I am doing, I also hope to counter the effects of this kind of 'dog whistle' politics.
