The problem with this rigid categorization, as I illustrated in the article, is that it would make some intersex women, who were observed to be female at birth and hence not trans, 'male'. This is no insignificant problem.

I don't think rigid categories are helpful or consistent with the actual science anyway. From what I see, it is just being deployed as a political tool by anti-trans forces.
