Let’s face it. The New Left is nothing like the progressivism of FDR and Kennedy. It’s basically neo-Marxism dressed up as progressivism, or social justice, or anything else that makes Americans not suspect its true nature. But it really all stems from the application of critical theory, i.e. applying the so-called ‘method of Marx’ to examine and deconstruct social issues. And to cause group-based conflict that they believe can be ‘revolutionary’.

This tradition would certainly be alien to the likes of FDR and Kennedy.
