I'm sorry, but I fully disagree. If this is a war we are now in, taking this metaphor further I have to be complicit in either shielding people from 'friendly fire' or shielding legitimate targets, I would choose the latter every single time. Call me a 'traitor' if you will, but this is my conscience. It is simply against humanity and morality to allow the 'war' to go on and let people get hurt.

On the other hand, we can just cancel the war and bring people together to have discussions, form consensus, and come up with new solutions for reform. I think Yang, with his 'not Left, not Right, but forward' spirit, would approve. I also think this is what the Harper's letter signatories wanted.

p.s. the letter had NOTHING do to with transphobia or trans issues at all. Rowling being one out of 150 signatories was probably what started this myth.
