I wish I shared your optimism, but I simply cannot. As a natural pessimist, I think both the left and the right are getting scarily authoritarian, and all we can do (as classical liberals) is to stand firmly against authoritarianism from all sides.

As for disruption, it’s good if it brings more freedom, but it’s bad if it makes things more authoritarian. And both left and right seem to want the latter kind of disruption right now.
