Perhaps we should make sure patients understand this as part of the informed consent. However, to get this done properly, we need both sides to tone down the culture war rhetoric. For example, the right likes to label all trans treatment as 'experimental' which is not true. Perhaps rather than calling it experimental, we should just state the truth that it could relieve dysphoria but does not change your biological sex.
