I don’t think we should get philosophical about this. (In fact, I don’t think we should use philosophy to read politics at all.)
The problem is really simple, I think. Hillary still wants to play identity politics, by digging up false ‘Bernie Bro’ stereotypes (which I know is ridiculous even though I’m not even a Bernie Bro). This anti-Bernie intervention is functionally just like the recent one from Elizabeth Warren: using identity to override rational debate.
