I definitely didn't mean to say that the left thinks in lockstep but the right does not. What I meant to say is, both sides think in lockstep a lot of the time, and that's not good. The left's thinking is overly determined by theory, and the right's thinking is overly focused on opposing what the left wants, regardless of the reason. This leads to lockstep thinking on both sides a lot of the time.
