I always welcome an alternative viewpoint. Hence, I want to respond to your 'other explanations':

Autogynephilia - possibly a thing for some people, but mostly straight men and not trans people. It really isn't a thing for most trans people. It is being overemphasized at the moment by people with an anti-trans agenda.

A kind of pathological obsession with gender roles which are socially constructed - certainly not the norm in the trans community.

A form of body dysphoria - it is part of the gender dysphoria package, so yes, trans people generally have body dysphoria. But for many of us, we remember that social dysphoria came before body dysphoria.

An intense desire for control over how others perceive us - again, certainly not the norm in the trans community. In fact, the stereotype of trans people 'demanding' others 'affirm' their identity is probably being overemphasized by people with an anti-trans agenda. If you read my other stuff, you'll know I'm the opposite of that.
