I agree with the comments already posted. Reparations means identity politics and economic policies will become irreversibly linked, which is the ground the alt-right already runs on. Liberals and conservatives will have a much harder time arguing against the alt-right.

Meanwhile, many of the ideas you mentioned (e.g. ending the war on drugs) can and should be done. They will go a long way in benefitting black and white disadvantaged Americans alike.
