Here's what I think: bringing people on board is a process, and it requires time and strategy. Right now, there is strong polarization and backlash towards us, and my goal is to diffuse this, so people will listen to what else we want to say.

I learned my strategizing from the gay marriage movement, which was indeed very successful. The leaders of that movement got the balance just right. I really hope we can learn from that to advance trans rights.
